Travelzoo is seeking an Intern, Social Community who will increase engagement of our community of passionate travelers across all of our active social media channels. You’ll champion our most active online members and provide valuable insights as part of a collaborative Marketing Team that champions the Travelzoo brand and supports our position as the world’s leading publisher of travel deals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with our Marketing Associate and Manager, Social Media to establish daily processes for monitoring social media activity and interact constructively with followers to build meaningful connections and encourage community members to take action.
  • Advocate for improvements to the customer experience by identifying gaps and understanding unmet needs. Manage and report on user feedback.
  • Research community management best practices and trends and provide recommendations on how those findings can be best leveraged by Travelzoo
  • Work with our Director, Acquisition & Engagement and our Manager, Social Media to incorporate the most relevant community engagement measurements into our KPI dashboard for organic social media results and share results throughout your internship.
  • Provide ideas and recommendations on new social content themes based on interests you observe in community interactions.
  • Encourage and reinforce positive engagement of members and deftly handle sensitive public interactions (we’ll help you navigate that and agree on guidelines).
  • Liaise with our Customer Service team who respond to messages from our social media users.
  • Help us design a large scale, long term vision for establishing and growing a thriving Travelzoo community across relevant social media channels.


  • In pursuit of or completed a 4-year college degree 
  • Relevant intern or employment experience in social media management including use of social media analytics tools
  • In-depth knowledge of social media channels (including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest)
  • Familiarity with social publishing and community management platforms is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrable empathy and authenticity with customers
